About Karen Lawrence
Karen is a fully trained and qualified Relate Certified Couple Counsellor and Counselling Supervisor and as such has received special training in working with relationships. She has also undergone further specialist training in domestic violence/abuse, working with adult survivors of child sexual abuse and sex counselling.
Karen is a British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Accredited Counsellor and Supervisor from 2005 and adheres to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice. She can be found at www.bacp.co.uk.
In accordance with BACP she is committed to continual personal and professional development and has monthly supervised practice.
Karen regularly lectures in counselling at the University of Ulster (Jordanstown) and its affiliated colleges, and is often requested to design and deliver counsellor training for voluntary, public and private sector organisations.
She provides supervision services for relationship counsellors and other counsellors within the helping professions. She holds an Adavanced Diploma in Supervision (Counselling and Psychotherapy).
Qualifications
Karen attained an honours degree in Communication Studies, June 2000 and a Masters of Social Work in July 2003.
She is qualified as a Family Counsellor having acquired a postgraduate Diploma in Systemic Practice. She also holds a Professional Certificate in Sexual Addictions.
